The main characters in Style Boutique include:
Callie - Professional Model and local celebrity. (Style = Bold)
Sophie - A bright and curious girl who invites you to the city & has a special connection with you as your grandmothers helped bring fashion to the city many years ago. (Style = Girly)
Laurie - Manages the Exhibition Hall and helps out with fashion shows. (Style = Feminine)
Magda - A mysterious fortune teller. Can be found by visiting locations via the train station. (Style = Goth)
Rainbow - A colourful character who will unlock colours in the colour palette if you show her photos of different locations. (Style = Lively)
Xiaoling - A talented artist who is Callie's number one fan. (Style = Girly or Eastern)
Evie - A famous stylist and mentor. (Style = Feminine)
Ricky - CEO and runs the Fashion Shows.
Adelaide - Ricky's older sister who has a powerful personality. (Style = Chic)
Sasha - Works at the Photo Studio and performs occasionally at the Live Music Club. (Style = Boho-Chic)
Zoey - Photographer at the Photo Studio and quite enthusiastic. (Style = Preppy)
Kristy - Manages the Miniatures Shop and loves all things cute. (Style = Lively)
Noor - Manages the Hair Salon and loves her dog Gustav. (Style = Sporty)
Arabella - Manages the Beautician with her brother and can be bossy at times. (Style = Bold)
Tarquin - A clever scientist who works at the Beautician with his sister Arabella who he is scared of. Unlock makeup sets by showing him items collected around the city.
Characters will sometimes visit you at the beautician or salon and request a new look. So if you aren't happy with their current hairstyle or make-up, you can either give them a look that suits them more or just give them the worst one you possibly can for fun. Whenever you attend a social event with a character, they will always request to take a photo. Here's some pics of my character hanging out with some of the girls.
Other characters to encounter in the game include:
Jewel - Runs the Terrace Cafe at Tropica Beach.
The Stylettos - Local girl group who each have their own unique colour and will request makeovers.
Gwen - Resident at Maple Crescent.
Jocelyn - Can be found at Meadow Walk.
Blake - Butler at the Mansion in the Meadows.
Leonora - Lives at the Mansion in the Meadows and never ages.
Ellie, Catherine, Trixie - Sisters that live at the Mansion in the Meadows.
Keisha - Manages the Live Music Club.
Callum - A handsome waiter who works at the Cafe.
Evan - Local musician known as the Main Evant.

ReplyDeleteThey will only purchase items that match their favourite colour. So anything blue, red or yellow. It's impossible to give them an actual outfit that matches because they always seem to layer stuff and it drives me nuts on how ugly it looks.

ReplyDeleteYou are unable to enter Peony Hall. Leonora appears around the city occasionally as a storyline. Usually she is wearing a disguise, but it you complete the Five Sisters storyline, you are able to meet her.

That's good to know, I only gave her Gothic because she was already wearing it and I enjoy making Gothic outfits because I hardly ever get requests for them.
DeleteXiaoling is extremely hard to please. She likes girly, but will appreciate certain eastern items that fit the girly theme also. Try giving her a yukata that is girly.
I had the same experience with Xiaoling. Based on the info above, I tried giving her an Eastern outfit, but she rejected it, saying it wasn't dainty enough. I've had luck in the past giving her Bold outfits, probably because Callie is her idol.
DeleteOn a related note, it annoys me when the major characters come in saying they don't care what I give them as long as it's stylish or something else that implies that I'm free to dress them however I want, but then they're bummed when it's not their preferred style.
I'm always so annoyed when Xiaoling visits because she is just so hard to please compared to the other characters.
DeleteYeah, it's stupid isn't it? But it's always been like that in other games. Characters will say do whatever, but the game will only let you pass if you give them an outfit that matches them.
Just a hint. I found out that Xiaoling likes stuff with flower patterns, so I always give her at least two items with flower patterns on them, and girly stuff for anything else. She never gives me trouble since then

ReplyDeleteJust a little note - Noor will also take Lively outfits. When she first came to the shop I panicked because I had no sporty items to give her, so I tried a lively outfit instead and she happily accepted it.
That's good to hear she accepted those! I know Noor likes anything that has a logo on it as well.

It is random on when the Five Sisters story line will appear. The story line begins outside your Boutique so keep checking there for Leonora and Callie. It's so annoying how it's random, I didn't get the story line until like 70 hours of game play.

ReplyDeleteIt is completly random on when the Stylettos will appear at your Boutique. Which is frustrating and I wish they hadn't put so many random trigger events into the game. Check the beautician and hair salon to see if they are hanging out there. But otherwise it is random for when they will appear.
DeleteI'd like to point out that some of the major customers aren't too choosy with the outfit styles that you give them. I've seen Zoey accept multiple Basic outfits, and Magda actually accepted a Chic outfit when she asked for a new outfit (the budget amount can be a huge giveaway).
ReplyDeleteAlso, Xiaoling's outfit style is not set in stone for every player, since on my end, she is content with Bold outfits, but it may not be the case for someone else, so don't expect Girly and Eastern outfits to always work for Xiaoling.
Yes, I've had a number of players tell me that they have had success giving the characters other styles. This guide was created to explain the basics of each characters style and the player is free to give them which ever they like. I like to stick to these as then each main character is wearing each of the styles represented in the game (apart from rock :( why no one like rock).
DeleteXiaoling enjoys bold outfits because she idolises Callie who wears bold outfits. Ever since I gave Xiaoling a yukata, she has never worn any other outfit I've sold her.
Just to let you know Xiaoling wears Bold clothing too. She prefers it in my game.
ReplyDeleteYes, she does like Bold clothing as well as that is the style she copies from Callie. Xiaoling seems to be happy with bold, girly or eastern, but will go crazy for girly yukatas.

ReplyDeleteYes she does like girly stuff as she wears one Marzipan Sky item in her main outfit. Her main style is bold however, so I always dress her in that.

DeleteThere is no specific time sorry, it's random. I found when I was unlocking the special hairstyles that when I focused on using hairstyles in the same category, the characters appeared. Maybe it was just luck, but I found that helped.

DeleteNot saying it will definetly work, but I found it helped :) I know focusing on certain hairstyles that are in the same category or listed near the style you are after helped me unlock them and some Japanese players said the same thing.
DeleteHaha it's hinted at once, but he doesn't exactly say he wants to be your boyfriend. There is no dating option in this game.

DeleteDon't lose heart. I was better than a HUNDRED hours in before Leonora FINALLY appeared. I was beginning to think my game was bugged, but then one day she and "Sally" just popped. It's ridiculous that it can take that long, but if you've got a lot of time invested and she still hasn't shown, don't give up. Just keep working at the styling salon and checking the characters outside the front of your shop. They do cycle in eventually.

ReplyDeleteSo I tried giving Laurie a Feminine outfit, it was within her budget and everything, but for some reason she didn't like it, the next time she came, I tried the Girly style on her and it worked, I know that Feminine is her main style but for some reason in my copy of the game she prefers Girly.
Any help/tips on this would be greatly appreciated.
I think that happens because girly and feminine are close style wise so she will accept it. Kinda like how eastern and boho-chic are similar as are bold and rock.
