You can obtain colour variations of certain amiibo items. To unlock amiibo items in different colours, you must first unlock the initial colour of the item (shown in the images in the amiibo guide). After this, keep re-scanning the amiibo until the character shows up in a new outfit. Different styles are associated to different colours, ie the black/yellow Yoshi Hoodie falls under the rock style so the customer will request a rock outfit. There are 5 different colours of each amiibo item to unlock.
Here are the five different colours of the Star Hairpin which can be unlocked by scanning any of the following:
- Bowser amiibo
- Toad amiibo
- Luigi amiibo
- Any amiibo that doesn't have an allocated item to it already (i.e. Rosalina, Peach, etc. Basically none of the ones listed in the amiibo guide)
- Any Animal Crossing amiibo card that is not Isabelle.
Just a note that I was also able to get the star hairpin by scanning one of the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer cards. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting :) I will have to try it out myself as I have a few HHD cards. Maybe with the new AC update, it is now possible as it wasn't before.
DeleteWeird, I was actually able to do it before the AC update. I think it was my Luna card (014) that I used...
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I was never able to do it on my game which is the Australian version until now. But I tried almost a year ago so it was a long time ago. At least it's all good and compatible now :)
DeleteYou can also get the star hairpin by scanning the link amiibo
ReplyDeleteYes, you can unlock the star hairpin with any amiibo that doesn't have an item already allocated to it (i.e. Rosalina or Peach and so on) Link doesn't have his own item in the game, so his amiibo will unlock the star hairpin.
DeleteJust curious but are there any other hairpins/clips apart from the star hairpin?
ReplyDeleteAmiibo item wise, there are no other hairpins/clips. There is the Princess Crown and Princess Tiara which can also be worn as headgear.
