Caprice Chalet - Kitchen Themed Rooms

At the Caprice Chalet, you can create different themed rooms and rent them to characters in the game. Only certain themed rooms can be rented out to characters and must have specific items placed in them to fit into a rental category. This post will look at the kitchen themed rooms and renting them to characters.

Kitchen themed rooms are pretty simple, they are set up like a kitchen you would find a house or apartment. There are plenty of kitchen and cooking themed miniatures you can use to decorate the room with but there are some key miniatures required. Kitchen rooms require a Retro Cooker and/or Retro Kitchen Cabinet to be placed somewhere in the room. These items come in three different colour combinations and are found under the Furniture category. Other kitchen and cooking themed miniatures include kettles, stewpot and other food themed miniatures. Kitchen themed rooms are simiular to banquet rooms and if you place the Plate and Cutlery item in the room, characters will refer to the room as a the banquet room.

Characters will appear at your boutique with a small house symbol above their head. Select this character and they will tell you how they noticed a room at the Caprice Chalet that had a certain theme. With kitchen themed rooms, characters will talk about how they having been cooking lately and they saw the kitchen room at Caprice Chalet which inspired them to cook more.

The character will request to rent the room out and you can either select yes or no. The rental periods for rooms is 24 hours and renting out rooms is a good method for earning money without effort in the game.

Characters will stay in the Caprice Chalet room for about 24 hours. When you visit the Caprice Chalet, rooms that are rented out will have a small person icon displayed on them. If you select this room during the rental period, the character will tell you how they are going or how business is doing. Visit the room after the 24 hour period and the character is ready to leave the room. They will thank you for allowing them to rent the room and tell you how they went. The character will then pay you the rental fee for using the room. The rental fee for kitchen themed rooms is $1000.

For more information on decorating rooms and the Caprice Chalet, please refer to Caprice Chalet Master Guide for links to all the Caprice Chalet and Miniatures guides.

Character Descriptions - Part 6

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, the characters you will encounter in the game have been given some rather amusing character descriptions. When you click on a NPC, it will bring up a preview of the character and some information about them. It will display their name and some brief information about their personality or hobbies. Some of the profile descriptions are pretty normal, but there are quite a few silly or ridiculous ones.

Here are a few examples of the amusing character descriptions of some of the NPC's in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3. More posts to come because there seems to just be an abundance of these in the game.

Fashion Show - Five Star Outfit - Unique Theme

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can hold fashion shows and walk on the catwalk as a model. There are a variety of fashion show themes to choose from and once you have sold enough tickets to hold the show, you get to choose the outfit you wish to wear in the show as well as your make-up and hairstyle.

At the end of each fashion show, the game awards you a rating out of five based on how well your overall outfit matched the theme of the show. For a detailed guide on themes and taking part in fashion shows, please refer to the Fashion Show guide. The game does not give you hints at what specific style will fit the theme and bases your final score on how well your outfit, hairstyle and makeup matches the theme. Multiple styles fall under each category and you need to pick the one you feel best matches the theme.

This guide will look an outfit that received a five star rating under the unique category. The theme for this fashion show was a summer outfit for the holiday and was the rainbow star theme icon on the theme menu screen. The venue used was the fifth venue on the venue list which is the yellow hued one.

Now for the outfit. The clothing items used to create this outfit were:
  • Retrobeat - Retro Acorn Print Shirt (Blue/Green/Pink)
  • Retrobeat - Eye Pattern Tutu (Pink)
  • April Bonbon - Dripping Paint Knee Socks (Pink)
  • Retrobeat - Lame Gradiant Flats (Purple)
  • Retrobeat - Scarf-Pattern Bow

The hairstyle used is the Afro with a light blue and pink colour combination. The make-up set used was the Galactic Ranger set with the default colours (no adjustments made to the set).

After selecting ok after the outfit menu screen, Laurie provided a hint that the outfit fitted the unique theme of the fashion show. Next it was time to hit the catwalk! Here's some screenshots of my character modelling the five star outfit. Be sure the click the effects buttons when taking part in fashion shows as they help hype up audience interest.

Time to see the final score. The outfit fitted perfectly with the unique theme and received five stars. The tricky part with achieving five star outfits is matching the hair and make-up to the theme. A good tip is to pick make-up sets with a good colour palette and match the feel/colour of your clothing items.

After this, Ricky and Laurie will talk to your about your performance. If you have an outfit that is 3 stars or higher, they will usually give you praise. Other NPC's will appear as well giving you feedback about your outfit. Ricky will appear afterwards and give you a miniature item as a gift. You do not receive a special miniature for achieving five stars.

Whilst trying to figure out how to get five stars in the Unique category, I tried a bunch of different outfits (none of which were successful). Here is an outfit that almost made it to five stars and is similar to the outfit that one. This outfit had more accessories and the hairstyle did not match the unique theme. With the five star outfit, I kept the same top but altered the rest of the outfit to fit the summer theme. The hairstyle was changed to the Afro which is a unique hairstyle and the same make-up set was used.

Caprice Chalet - Model Themed Rooms

At the Caprice Chalet, you can create different themed rooms and rent them to characters in the game. Only certain themed rooms can be rented out to characters and must have specific items placed in them to fit into a rental category. This post will look at the model themed rooms and renting them to characters.

Model themed rooms are any room that a character refers to as one that they can practice their modelling skills in. These types of rooms are either set up like a photo studio or have a mannequin placed in them. To decorate a room like a photo studio, it is ideal to use the photo themed miniatures that you received as gifts from Sasha and Zoey. The photo studio room pictured below shows examples of photo themed miniatures and how to set them up. The garden room pictured shows a room that a customer refers to as a model room. It has a mannequin placed in the room and meets no requirements for any other type of room.

Characters will appear at your boutique with a small house symbol above their head. Select this character and they will tell you how they noticed a room at the Caprice Chalet that had a certain theme. With model themed rooms, the character will talk about how love seeing your posters around town and how you are such a good model. They will talk about how they would love to try to be a model and would like to borrow the room to practice.

The rental fee for model themed rooms is $1000.

Blog Update

Hello! Marzipanini here with a little blog update. First off, I would like to thank everyone who reads my Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward Guide blog. I started this blog almost a year ago just to share information on where to find colours, make-up sets and random posts about the amiibo and DLC content. Never did I think it would still be running today! I'm so happy that people have been able to discover new things about the game and find useful guides. So thank you to everyone who visits my blog and I hope you continue to visit in the future :)

Last month, I added a poll to the blog just for fun. It ended up getting over 93 votes! So here's the results about what is everyone's favourite brand in Style Boutique 2 (there was a lot of ties for places):
  • 1st = Marzipan Sky & Marble Lily
  • 2nd = Enid Chen
  • 3rd = Purple Moon & Raven Candle
  • 4th = AZ-USA & Chorale
  • 5th = Brooke Bridge
  • 6th = Kanokoi, Stage Dive & Retrobeat
  • 7th = April Bonbon
  • 8th = ARIANNA
  • No Votes = Basic U, Chorale Perlude, Soy & Streetflow

I will add a new poll to the blog soon and you can vote for your favourite style/image in the game. It was interesting to see people's favourite brands and I can say Marzipan Sky is my favourite brand in the game as well.

There's still lots of guides to be posted and there's still a few in the Caprice Chalet series coming up. The Purple Moon clothing guides are still going because there is so many outfits to be purchased in that brand. If you have ideas for a guide you'd like to see, please leave a comment and I will add it to my list of ones to make. Sometimes it can take a while to make a guide due to my own commitments or it takes a while to research the information, but thank you everyone for being patient with waiting for guides.

If you are interested in reading a play journal of my activities in Style Boutique 2, I have one on my other blog Marzipan Wonderland. I'll be posting it on that blog (which is my personal blog) as this one is just limited to guides and tips about the game. I post about a bunch of other topics as well (like music and sewing), so take a look if you are interested :)

Hope you enjoyed this update, thank you for visiting and stay tuned for lots of interesting guides about Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3 in the future!

Boutique - Zoey Outfit Request

Throughout the game, the main NPC's will visit your boutique to request new outfits. Some characters request new outfits for an event or as their normal outfit they wear in game. Each character has their own personal style and a list of each characters style can be found here.

Zoey is the photographer who works at the local Photo Studio and will be the one taking photos of you when you complete photo shoot requests or design your own photo shoots. Zoey will visit you boutique requesting a new outfit to wear when she does a speech on stage at Bun-Bun Funland.

Zoey's personal style is preppy and likes items from the Brooke Bridge brand. Select the image 'preppy' and design an outfit based around this style. Remember to choose clothing items appropriate for the season, i.e. you cannot wear just a tank top in winter as the character will remark how they will get cold. Each character will have a budget you will need to stay within and you can go slightly over the budget by about $80. Once you are happy with the outfit, select Ok.

You can select either 'Try It On' or 'Take A Look' when showing the character the outfit you have chosen. Select the 'Try It On' option if you are confident they will like the outfit or if you select 'Take A Look', you will get 3 tries to try to impress the character with an outfit.

If you chose 'Try It On' and the character is highly impressed with the outfit, the game will play a short animation showing the character in their new outfit. The background of the animation changes depending on the style the character is wearing.

Looks like Zoey is impressed with her new outfit. She will tell you what aspects she likes about it and usually will comment on how preppy it is. During this scene, characters will give you hints on the styles and colours that they look for in an outfit. Zoey likes preppy items that have minimal patterns such as stripes or checks as well as accessories such as bags or glasses.

After this, Zoey will pay you for the outfit and the amount is added to your money in-game. Zoey will comment that they outfit was just what she was looking for and is perfect for her performance at Bun-Bun Funland. She will invite you to visit her at the Bun-Bun Funland which can be accessed via the train station. You do not need to meet her immediately and can visit whenever you like. However, you will be unable to accept modelling jobs or take photos yourself at the Photo Studio until you have visited Zoey at the Bun-Bun Funland. When you visit Zoey, she will give you a special photo studio miniature item as a gift.

Lenore - Gothic Outfit Story Line

In Style Boutique 2, a story line appears that features Lenore requesting for you to showcase a gothic themed outfit to her. This story line appears at no specific time within the game and appears more than once. The story line usually appears after you have completed the Five Sisters story line.

Visit Taylor Arcade and two NPC characters may appear with a star symbol above them. These NPC's are Lenore and Blake who are Leonora from the Five Sisters in disguise and her Butler. Lenore will talk about searching for someone who best represents her favourite fashion style which is the gothic theme. If you are wearing a gothic themed outfit, Lenore will comment on your outfit and Blake will request to take a photo of the two of you. If you are not wearing a gothic outfit, Lenore will inform you she is still on the look out for someone wearing a gothic outfit. She will reappear again if you miss out at another time in the future.

If you are able to take a photo with Lenore, Blake will tell you to get ready and your character will do a special pose.

After this, Lenore and Blake will compliment you on the photo and thank you for your time. Lenore will talk about Peony Hall in the Meadows which is where they live. In addition to this story line, the other Sisters will appear around town requesting outfits based off their favourite styles. Leonora can also be found around the city talking to the girls.

Boutique - Image Combinations

When customers visit your boutique, they will request an outfit of a certain image. But sometimes when you go to choose items for the outfit, you'll suddenly find out that you don't have items that match the required theme. But you're in luck as in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can combine images together and customers will be happy. This guide will look at what images can be combined together with outfits and which ones match with others.

There are fourteen images (or styles) available in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3. The images convey a variety of styles and looks. Images can be combined together to create an outfit and don't just have to feature one style. For example, a customer will come into your boutique requesting a sporty outfit. When selecting the outfit, you discover that you have no sporty shoes in stock. Instead you can select basic shoes to use for the outfit as basic matches with sporty.

You need to be careful when combining images as customers will comment how an outfit has too many styles and refuse to purchase it. The picture below shows an example of a mannequin displaying an outfit that customers refused to buy due to clashing images. The trick with combining images is to have only one or two items in the outfit that belong to a different image to the one mentioned by the customer. For example, a Boho-Chic outfit features 4 items that are boho themed and 1 that is easterned themed.

Here is a list of image combinations that work well when creating outfits.
  • Lively + Girly
  • Lively + Psychedelic
  • Lively + Sporty
  • Preppy + Feminine
  • Preppy + Girly
  • Basic + Feminine
  • Sporty + Basic
  • Boho + Eastern
  • Chic + Feminine
  • Chic + Bold
  • Girly + Feminine
  • Girly + Preppy
  • Gothic + Baby-Doll
  • Psychedelic + Lively
  • Baby-Doll + Girly
  • Bold + Rock
