Fashion Show - Five Star Outfit - Girly Theme

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can hold fashion shows and walk on the catwalk as a model. There are a variety of fashion show themes to choose from and once you have sold enough tickets to hold the show, you get to choose the outfit you wish to wear in the show as well as your make-up and hairstyle.

At the end of each fashion show, the game awards you a rating out of five based on how well your overall outfit matched the theme of the show. For a detailed guide on themes and taking part in fashion shows, please refer to the Fashion Show guide. The game does not give you hints at what specific style will fit the theme and bases your final score on how well your outfit, hairstyle and makeup matches the theme. Multiple styles fall under each category and you need to pick the one you feel best matches the theme.

This guide will look an outfit that received a five star rating. The theme for this fashion show was 'Snow Princess' and was the red heart theme icon on the theme menu screen. The venue used was the first venue on the venue list which is the orange hued one with the black handbag and make-up display.

Now for the outfit. The clothing items used to create this outfit were:
  • Marzipan Sky - Check Maxi Dress
  • Marzipan Sky - Flower Pumps
  • Marzipan Sky - Fancy Flower Bag
  • Marzipan Sky - Clover Pendant
  • Marzipan Sky - Floral Bunny Headband

The hairstyle used is the plaited pigtails with the plaited fringe (left side). The make-up set used was the Sweet Silk set with the default colours (no adjustments made to the set).

After selecting ok after the outfit menu screen, Laurie provided a hint that the outfit fitted the girly/dainty theme of the fashion show.

Next it was time to hit the catwalk! Here's some screenshots of my character modelling the five star outfit. Be sure the click the effects buttons when taking part in fashion shows as they help hype up audience interest.

Time to see the final score. The outfit fitted perfectly with the princess theme and received five stars. The tricky part with achieving five star outfits is matching the hair and make-up to the theme. A good tip is to pick make-up sets with a good colour palette and match the feel/colour of your clothing items.

After this, Ricky and Laurie will talk to your about your performance. If you have an outfit that is 3 stars or higher, they will usually give you praise. For this five star outfit, the following conversation occurred.

Other NPC's will appear as well giving you feedback about your outfit. Callie talked about how cute my hairstyle was and Sophie commented on how cute my outfit was. Ricky will appear afterwards and give you a miniature item as a gift. You do not receive a special miniature for achieving five stars. I received a food item that I already had from previous fashion shows.

  1. Thank you for your helpful site! I always get 3-4 star, never 5. I'll need to try the outfit above next time.
I have the Australian version, if they ever release another game I should get the Japanese version to get more DLC.

    1. Thank you for reading my site! I hardly ever get 5 as well, mainly 3 or 4 also.
Yes I have the Australian version as well. With the Japanese version, you need a Japanese 3DS as the game is region locked and you need to connect to the Japanese eShop which can be difficult. If they do ever release Girls Mode 4 (Japanese version) I will totally be buying it too!

    2. I think it was in the hairstyle guide, I was reading the comments you can check how many hours you've played, where do I find this? I tried checking the profile but can't see anything.

    3. It's not an in-game feature but a feature on the 3DS. You need to use the Activity Log on the main menu screen of the 3DS. Select this and then Software Library. It will bring up all the programs you have played on your 3DS and select Style Boutique (or Style Savvy for NA). It will tell you the total time played and some other information. For example, I've played 223 hours of the game with an average play time of 27 mins. It's my second most played game after Animal Crossing New Leaf (which is 600 hours but I don't play anymore).

  2. I chose a grown up theme fashion show and combined some feminine items from enid chen and chic items from chorale and got five stars maybe combining girl item from marble lily and babydoll items from marzipan sky would give five stars too? Or lively from streetflow and sporty from april bonbon and then bohochic from retrobeat and phsycadelic from soy and rock items from Az usa and bold items from stagedive?
