Main NPC Request
The main story line characters will visit the Hair Salon occasionally to request a new hair style from you. Be careful with the hair style you choose as the characters will be stuck with this style until they visit again. This is a good time to give them a style you like or maybe want to give them a terrible one for laughs. They have no particular preferences to the style they would like, so you are free to choose what you wish. But keep in mind, they will prefer styles that match their image. These characters appear with a yellow star symbol above them.
The Stylettos
Local girl group the Stylettos are constantly on a mission to change their appearance every 5 seconds. The first stop of their style mission is your Boutique and tehn the Hair Salon or the Beautician. When choosing a hair style, each Styletto will want their hair coloured in their favourite colour; Ruby is Red, Amber is yellow and Sapphire is deep blue. You can give the girls all the same style or each one a different one. The Styletto characters appear with a yellow star symbol above them.
Change My Image
Match My Outfit
Customers will request a hair style that matches a clothing item or image style they are currently wearing. They will usually ask for things like matching a dress or a style like gothic or baby-doll. They will inform you that it needs to match something when they request the outfit and give you hints when you answer questions.
Copycat Hairstyle
Some customers will request a hair style that copies one of the main NPC styles or other characters that appear in the game such as the Five Sisters. It's a good idea to remember what the character's hair you are copying looks like as customers will get annoyed if you don't copy it exactly.
There is another copycat hairstyle request in which customers will ask you to give them a hairstyle that looks like someone who is not in the game. For example, this customer wishes to have ahir like Sophia Wasaki who doesn't appear in the game. With these requests, you need to carefully answer the questions to get hints on what they are after.
Has A Certain Look
There are some bizarre hair style requests in which customers will request a certain look that the hair style must have. A common one is the girl who asks for a hair style that looks like a toothpaste. You must answer the questions to get hints on what the customer is looking for, but you can get a general idea when they give you the inspiration such as tooth paste or mushrooms.
For An Event
Customers will often requests a new hair style as they are heading to an event and would like to look nice or match the theme. Some of these requests include events such as catching up with old school friends or teachers, attending dance or sporting events. For these, answer the questions carefully to get a good idea of the look the customer wants for their new hair style.
On several occasions, I have gotten requests to give customers the same hairstyles as the Five Sisters. Recently, however, I have been getting requests from customers who already have those hairstyles, usually the same customers I've helped before. How can one fulfill a request if it has previously been fulfilled?
ReplyDeleteDo a very slight variation of the hair, they don't really care if it's a carbon copy or it's slightly off, ex: a straight bob with a centre part instead of the wavy centre parting. Basically, the AI doesn't notice these things or it just doesn't care enough.
DeleteNot sure if this is what happened, but I know if you time travel or adjust the date on your 3DS, it will reset that specific request/story line in the game. And those customers will reappear or new ones asking for the same request.
DeleteOtherwise, just give them a similuar hairstyle or alter the colour to another one in the same colour palette. As long as the colour is in the same palette (i.e. pink or reds), the customer will accept it.
Can you use blue-purples as blue or purple? Same thing with yellow-greens.
ReplyDeleteOne of the palette's is called Blue Purples as it's a mixture of both shades. If a customer asks for a shade that belongs to the blue/purple palette, it's best to pick that one.
DeleteA weird fact about the copycat requests is that they don't get the hair colour right. For example, customers think Noor's hair is brown, but if you look closer, it's actually a very deep red! It's the same issue with a few others, such as Arabella (her hair colour is the same as Noor) and Ellie (100% sure it's celebration pink). Really annoys me.
ReplyDeleteYes I've noticed this too! It seems if you just get the colour on the same palette they will accept it. Same with make-up.

ReplyDeleteSo, there is this weird request in the game where the customer demands me to make their hair "completely different". I try to make it as different as I can, making it a different length, a different hair color from a different colour selection, a different fringe, etc. But no matter much I change it, the customer's response is always "How different did you make it?" or "I see no visible difference". They also have some other orders for me when they are unhappy with it, like one girl said to make it tomboyish. So I choose a shorter style, and same reaction! How can I fix this?
I would also like to mention that in same request, they don't have any other orders other than to make it a "complete makeover", which is a huge problem. Is there a secret order to this request to make their hair a certain way or something? Because when I got this request one time, I get it exactly like how the costumer wants it. Idk...
