At
the Caprice Chalet, you can create different themed rooms and rent them
to characters in the game. Only certain themed rooms can be rented out
to characters and must have specific items placed in them to fit into a
rental category. This post will look at the Banquet and Dining themed rooms and
renting them to characters.
Banquet and Dining themed rooms are set up like a room you would sit down and eat a fancy meal in. The room must be decorated with certain items to be categorised as a dining room and not a kitchen. The room must have a table with chairs placed in it and the table should have the Plate and Cutlery miniature placed on top of it. Cabinets such as the Glasses Cabinet and Cups and Mugs Cabinet (found in the Furniture category) are ideal to use for decoration. Banquet and Dining rooms are usually set out with a simple layout and food miniatures can be placed on the table.
Characters
will appear at your boutique with a small house symbol above their
head. Select this character and they will tell you how they noticed a
room at the Caprice Chalet that had a certain theme. With bakery themed rooms, the character will talk about how they've been wanting to throw a banquet for a long time but haven't been able to find the perfect venue. They will mention that they saw a room at Caprice Chalet that would be perfect for it.
The
character will request to rent the room out and you can either select
yes or no. The rental periods for rooms is 24 hours and renting out
rooms is a good method for earning money without effort in the game.
Characters
will stay in the Caprice Chalet room for about 24 hours. When you visit
the Caprice Chalet, rooms that are rented out will have a small person
icon displayed on them. If you select this room during the rental
period, the character will tell you how they are going or how business
is doing. Visit the room after the 24 hour period and the character is
ready to leave the room. They will thank you for allowing them to rent
the room and tell you how they went. The character will then pay you the
rental fee for using the room. The rental fee for banquet/dining themed rooms is
$1000.
For more information on decorating rooms and the Caprice Chalet, please refer to Caprice Chalet Master Guide for links to all the Caprice Chalet and Miniatures guides.
In
Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, the characters you will encounter in the
game have been given some rather amusing character descriptions. When
you click on a NPC, it will bring up a preview of the character and some
information about them. It will display their name and some brief
information about their personality or hobbies. Some of the profile
descriptions are pretty normal, but there are quite a few silly or
ridiculous ones.
Here
are a few examples of the amusing character descriptions of some of the
NPC's in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3. More posts to come because
there seems to just be an abundance of these in the game.
There
are a number of different types of requests you will receive from
characters who visit you at the Hair Salon. The requests are fairly simple to
fulfill if you have a variety of hairstyles unlocked to use. If you need to unlock hairstyles, please refer to the Hairstyle Guide. This guide will cover the requests that
customers will ask for when visiting the Hair Salon.
Main NPC Request
The
main story line characters will visit the Hair Salon occasionally to
request a new hair style from you. Be careful with the hair style you choose as the characters will be stuck with this style until they visit again. This is a good time to give them a style you like or maybe want to give them a terrible one for laughs. They have no particular preferences to the style they would like, so you are free to choose what you wish. But keep in mind, they will prefer styles that match their image. These characters appear with a yellow star symbol above
them.
The Stylettos
Local
girl group the Stylettos are constantly on a mission to change their
appearance every 5 seconds. The first stop of their style mission is
your Boutique and tehn the Hair Salon or the Beautician. When choosing a hair style, each Styletto will want their hair coloured in their favourite colour; Ruby is Red, Amber is yellow and Sapphire is
deep blue. You can give the girls all the same style or each one a different one. The Styletto characters appear with a yellow star symbol above
them.
Change My Image
Match My Outfit
Customers will request a hair style that matches a clothing item or image style they are currently wearing. They will usually ask for things like matching a dress or a style like gothic or baby-doll. They will inform you that it needs to match something when they request the outfit and give you hints when you answer questions.
Copycat Hairstyle
Some customers will request a hair style that copies one of the main NPC styles or other characters that appear in the game such as the Five Sisters. It's a good idea to remember what the character's hair you are copying looks like as customers will get annoyed if you don't copy it exactly.
There is another copycat hairstyle request in which customers will ask you to give them a hairstyle that looks like someone who is not in the game. For example, this customer wishes to have ahir like Sophia Wasaki who doesn't appear in the game. With these requests, you need to carefully answer the questions to get hints on what they are after.
Has A Certain Look
There are some bizarre hair style requests in which customers will request a certain look that the hair style must have. A common one is the girl who asks for a hair style that looks like a toothpaste. You must answer the questions to get hints on what the customer is looking for, but you can get a general idea when they give you the inspiration such as tooth paste or mushrooms.
For An Event
Customers will often requests a new hair style as they are heading to an event and would like to look nice or match the theme. Some of these requests include events such as catching up with old school friends or teachers, attending dance or sporting events. For these, answer the questions carefully to get a good idea of the look the customer wants for their new hair style.

There
a variety of brands featured in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3 that
cater to all tastes in fashion. One of the brands is Marzipan Sky which
focuses on girly fashion styles. The game lists the following
description for the brand "Marzipan Sky offers enchanting styles as sweet and delicate as the confection it's named after."
Marzipan Sky's main image is Girly and clothing items in the brand also

In
Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can hold fashion shows and walk on
the catwalk as a model. There are a variety of fashion show themes to
choose from and once you have sold enough tickets to hold the show, you
get to choose the outfit you wish to wear in the show as well as your
make-up and hairstyle.
At
the end of each fashion show, the game awards you a rating out of five
based on how well your overall outfit matched the theme of the show. For
a detailed guide on themes and taking part in fashion shows, please
refer to the Fashion Show guide. The
game does not give you hints at what specific style will fit the theme
and bases your final score on how well your outfit, hairstyle and makeup
matches the theme. Multiple styles fall under each category and you
need to pick the one you feel best matches the theme.
This
guide will look an outfit that received a five star rating under the fun category. The theme
for this fashion show was a summer outfit that is bright and more fun than the sun and was the orange bubble theme
icon on the theme menu screen. The venue used was the fifth venue on the
venue list which is the yellow hued one.
Now for the outfit. The clothing items used to create this outfit were:
- Streetflow - Uniform Number T-Shirt (Yellow)
- Streetflow - Kitty Cat Parka (Yellow/Blue)
- Streetflow - Number Bottoms (Blue)
- April Bonbon - Fuzzy Basketball Shoes (Blue/Yellow)
The
hairstyle used is the Messy updo with the M-Shaped Fringe with the colour Banana as the main colour and Sunflower Yellow for the highlights. The make-up set used was the Toybox Central set with the default
colours (no adjustments made to the set).
After
selecting ok after the outfit menu screen, Laurie provided a hint that
the outfit fitted the fun theme of the fashion show. Next
it was time to hit the catwalk! Here's some screenshots of my character
modelling the five star outfit. Be sure the click the effects buttons
when taking part in fashion shows as they help hype up audience
interest.
Time
to see the final score. The outfit fitted perfectly with the fun theme and received five stars. The tricky part with achieving five star
outfits is matching the hair and make-up to the theme. A good tip is to
pick make-up sets with a good colour palette and match the feel/colour
of your clothing items.
After
this, Ricky and Laurie will talk to your about your performance. If you
have an outfit that is 3 stars or higher, they will usually give you
praise. Other
NPC's will appear as well giving you feedback about your outfit. Ricky will appear afterwards and give you a miniature
item as a gift. You do not receive a special miniature for achieving
five stars.

Throughout
the game, the main NPC's will visit your boutique to request new
outfits. Some characters request new outfits for an event or as their
normal outfit they wear in game. Each character has their own personal
style and a list of each characters style can be found here.
Xiaoling is a local artist who draws protraits of people around Beaumonde City. She idolises Callie and her story line in the main part of the game is to copy her style. Xiaoling will visit your boutique requesting a new outfit to wear as her normal outfit.
Xiaoling is the most difficult character to pick an outfit for. She seems to like a number of styles and can be hard to please. Xiaoling will accept outfits that match the following requirements:
- Girly themed items - mainly Marzipan Sky brand.
- A yukuta from Kanokoi that is girly themed.
- Bold themed items.
- Flower patterned girly items.
Xiaoling will not accept eastern themed items and will reject the outfit if you give one to her. The only item from the eastern brand Kanokoi that she will accept is girly themed yukatas and the best item for that is the Strawberry Lace Yukata. She will always accept this item, no matter if she already owns the item in a different colour.
Now to pick an outfit! Select any image or item fitting the requirements mentioned above and design an outfit based around this
style. Remember to choose clothing items appropriate for the season,
i.e. you cannot wear just a tank top in winter as the character will
remark how they will get cold. Each character will have a budget you
will need to stay within and you can go slightly over the budget by
about $80. Once you are happy with the outfit, select Ok.
You
can select either 'Try It On' or 'Take A Look' when showing the
character the outfit you have chosen. Select the 'Try It On' option if
you are confident they will like the outfit or if you select 'Take A
Look', you will get 3 tries to try to impress the character with an
outfit.
If
you chose 'Try It On' and the character is highly impressed with the
outfit, the game will play a short animation showing the character in
their new outfit. The background of the animation changes depending on
the style the character is wearing.
Looks
like Xiaoling is impressed with her new outfit. She will tell you what
aspects she likes about it and usually will comment on how she loves the theme or pattern.
During this scene, characters will give you hints on the styles and
colours that they look for in an outfit. The picture below shows Xiaoling is a fan of eastern styles (which is wrong because she never accepts eastern items) and the style suits her. If you give her a girly or bold outfit, she will comment on how girly or bold the outfit is.
After
this, Xiaoling will pay you for the outfit and the amount is added to
your money in-game. Xiaoling will comment on how excited she is now and would like to go out and celebrate. She will invite you to visit her at Bun-Bun Funland which can be accessed via the train station. You do
not need to meet her immediately and can visit whenever you like. When
visiting Bun-Bun Funland with Xiaoling, she will ask to take a photo with you
and give you a miniature item as a gift.
