In
Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can hold fashion shows and walk on
the catwalk as a model. There are a variety of fashion show themes to
choose from and once you have sold enough tickets to hold the show, you
get to choose the outfit you wish to wear in the show as well as your
make-up and hairstyle.
At
the end of each fashion show, the game awards you a rating out of five
based on how well your overall outfit matched the theme of the show. For
a detailed guide on themes and taking part in fashion shows, please
refer to the Fashion Show guide. The
game does not give you hints at what specific style will fit the theme
and bases your final score on how well your outfit, hairstyle and makeup
matches the theme. Multiple styles fall under each category and you
need to pick the one you feel best matches the theme.
This
guide will look an outfit that received a five star rating. The theme
for this fashion show was a grown up outfit for the winter and was the purple rose theme
icon on the theme menu screen. The venue used was the fourth venue on the
venue list which is the pink hued one with the water fountain and teacup display.
Now for the outfit. The clothing items used to create this outfit were:
- Enid Chen - Chic Striped Dress
- Enid Chen - Striped Leggings
- Enid Chen - Lace Wedge Sandals
- Enid Chen - Flower Detail Glasses
- ARIANNA - Luxury Clutch
The
hairstyle used is the side-swept waves. The make-up set used was the Marina Maiden set with the default
colours (no adjustments made to the set).
After
selecting ok after the outfit menu screen, Laurie provided a hint that
the outfit fitted the grown up theme of the fashion show. Next
it was time to hit the catwalk! Here's some screenshots of my character
modelling the five star outfit. Be sure the click the effects buttons
when taking part in fashion shows as they help hype up audience
interest.
Time
to see the final score. The outfit fitted perfectly with the grown-up
theme and received five stars. The tricky part with achieving five star
outfits is matching the hair and make-up to the theme. A good tip is to
pick make-up sets with a good colour palette and match the feel/colour
of your clothing items.
After
this, Ricky and Laurie will talk to your about your performance. If you
have an outfit that is 3 stars or higher, they will usually give you
praise. Other
NPC's will appear as well giving you feedback about your outfit. Ricky will appear afterwards and give you a miniature
item as a gift. You do not receive a special miniature for achieving
five stars. I received a chair item that I already had from previous
fashion shows.
Throughout
the game, the main NPC's will visit your boutique to request new
outfits. Some characters request new outfits for an event or as their
normal outfit they wear in game. Each character has their own personal
style and a list of each characters style can be found here.
Sasha who works at the Photo Studio will visit your boutique requesting a new outfit for her gig that night. Sasha occasionally performs at the Live Music Club as a singer and needs a new outfit for her next performance.
Sasha's
personal style is boho-chic and likes items from the Soy brand. Select the image 'boho-chic' and design an outfit based around this
style. Remember to choose clothing items appropriate for the season,
i.e. you cannot wear just a tank top in winter as the character will
remark how they will get cold. Each character will have a budget you
will need to stay within and you can go slightly over the budget by
about $80. Once you are happy with the outfit, select Ok.
You
can select either 'Try It On' or 'Take A Look' when showing the
character the outfit you have chosen. Select the 'Try It On' option if
you are confident they will like the outfit or if you select 'Take A
Look', you will get 3 tries to try to impress the character with an
outfit.
If
you chose 'Try It On' and the character is highly impressed with the
outfit, the game will play a short animation showing the character in
their new outfit. The background of the animation changes depending on
the style the character is wearing.
Looks
like Sasha is impressed with her new outfit. She will tell you what
aspects she likes about it and usually will comment on how boho-chic it is.
During this scene, characters will give you hints on the styles and
colours that they look for in an outfit. Sasha is a fan of boho-chic
outfits, but likes the use of accessories.
After
this, Sasha will pay you for the outfit and the amount is added to
your money in-game. Sasha will comment on how the outfit will look amazing on stage and invite you to attend her gig at the Live Music Club. You can visit her at night time at the Live Music Club and you will be unable to accept modelling jobs or take photos yourself at the Photo Studio until you have visited Sasha at the Live Music Club. When you visit Sasha, she will give you a special photo studio or music themed miniature item as a gift.
At the Caprice Chalet, you can create different themed rooms and rent them to characters in the game. Only certain themed rooms can be rented out to characters and must have specific items placed in them to fit into a rental category. This post will look at the bag shop themed rooms and renting them to characters.
Bag shop themed rooms are similar to boutique and clothing themed rooms. They must have a counter with a cash register or till placed on it. The room must be decorated with bag themed miniatures. If you place too many clothing or knick-knack themed items, customers will refer to it as a item or clothing boutique. Bag themed miniatures can either be purchased from the Miniatures Shop or received as a gift from brand representatives for purchasing a large amount of items from their brand at the Exhibition Hall. For example, the pink/white bag on the pillar in the left hand corner of the room below is a miniature unlocked from the Chorale Perlude brand.
Characters
will appear at your boutique with a small house symbol above their
head. Select this character and they will tell you how they noticed a
room at the Caprice Chalet that had a certain theme. With bag shop
themed rooms, the character will talk about how they are interested in
selling bags or educating people about the importance of bags.
The character will request to rent the room out and you can either select yes or no. The rental periods for rooms is 24 hours and renting out rooms is a good method for earning money without effort in the game.
Characters will stay in the Caprice Chalet room for about 24 hours. When you visit the Caprice Chalet, rooms that are rented out will have a small person icon displayed on them. If you select this room during the rental period, the character will tell you how they are going or how business is doing. Visit the room after the 24 hour period and the character is ready to leave the room. They will thank you for allowing them to rent the room and tell you how they went. The character will then pay you the rental fee for using the room. The rental fee for bag themed rooms is $500.
For more information on decorating rooms and the Caprice Chalet, please refer to Caprice Chalet Master Guide for links to all the Caprice Chalet and Miniatures guides.
Style
Boutique 2 has amiibo compatibility and unlocks special items for your
character to wear. There are a number of amiibos available to scan into the game and when scanned, it generates a character based off the mii registered to the amiibo. A guide on how to use amiibos, compatible amiibos and the unlockable items can be found here.
You can obtain colour variations of certain
amiibo items. To unlock amiibo items in different colours, you must first unlock the initial colour of the item (shown in the images in the amiibo guide). After this, keep re-scanning the amiibo until the character shows up in a new outfit. Different styles are associated to different colours, ie the black/yellow Yoshi Hoodie falls under the rock style so the customer will request a rock outfit. There are 5 different colours of each amiibo item to unlock.
Here are the five different colours of the Warrior Skirt which can be obtained by scanning the Lucina amiibo.
The Purple Moon brand in Style Boutique 2 sells a variety of fun costume outfits. The brand is found on the third floor of the Exhibition Hall and the brand representative is Eliza. One of the costume outfits that can be purchased from Purple Moon is the Cat outfit. Each item in the outfit costs $990.00.
The Cat outfit is made up of the following items:
- Cat Hoodie Dress
- Cat Feet Socks
- Cat Ear Hairband
The outfit is available in six colours: red, blue, green, pink, grey, black and purple. A Cat Bell accessory is available in the colour red and blue. Cat whiskers are available as an accessory and they come in either white or black. The Cat Ear Hairband is available in the colour white as well and various tartan colours (not pictured below).
In Style Boutique 2, you can take fun and exciting photos at the Photo Studio. Select the 'For Fun' option to take your own personal photos. For more information on the Modelling Jobs option, please refer to the Photo Studio guide. Next you will take a photo by choosing the type of shoot you would like (full-body, waist-up or close-up) and the pose you would like to use. Now you can pick the frame you would like to have on the photo.

Studio
Select the Studio option to take a photo with a themed or coloured backdrop. With this option, you do not have to wait through a traveling loading screen. When you unlock new brands in the game, a themed backdrop will become available at the Photo Studio. Here are images of the 41 backdrops available in the Studio option.
