Caprice Chalet - Kitchen Themed Rooms

At the Caprice Chalet, you can create different themed rooms and rent them to characters in the game. Only certain themed rooms can be rented out to characters and must have specific items placed in them to fit into a rental category. This post will look at the kitchen themed rooms and renting them to characters.

Kitchen themed rooms are pretty simple, they are set up like a kitchen you would find a house or apartment. There are plenty of kitchen and cooking themed miniatures you can use to decorate the room with but there are some key miniatures required. Kitchen rooms require a Retro Cooker and/or Retro Kitchen Cabinet to be placed somewhere in the room. These items come in three different colour combinations and are found under the Furniture category. Other kitchen and cooking themed miniatures include kettles, stewpot and other food themed miniatures. Kitchen themed rooms are simiular to banquet rooms and if you place the Plate and Cutlery item in the room, characters will refer to the room as a the banquet room.

Characters will appear at your boutique with a small house symbol above their head. Select this character and they will tell you how they noticed a room at the Caprice Chalet that had a certain theme. With kitchen themed rooms, characters will talk about how they having been cooking lately and they saw the kitchen room at Caprice Chalet which inspired them to cook more.

The character will request to rent the room out and you can either select yes or no. The rental periods for rooms is 24 hours and renting out rooms is a good method for earning money without effort in the game.

Characters will stay in the Caprice Chalet room for about 24 hours. When you visit the Caprice Chalet, rooms that are rented out will have a small person icon displayed on them. If you select this room during the rental period, the character will tell you how they are going or how business is doing. Visit the room after the 24 hour period and the character is ready to leave the room. They will thank you for allowing them to rent the room and tell you how they went. The character will then pay you the rental fee for using the room. The rental fee for kitchen themed rooms is $1000.

For more information on decorating rooms and the Caprice Chalet, please refer to Caprice Chalet Master Guide for links to all the Caprice Chalet and Miniatures guides.

Character Descriptions - Part 6

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, the characters you will encounter in the game have been given some rather amusing character descriptions. When you click on a NPC, it will bring up a preview of the character and some information about them. It will display their name and some brief information about their personality or hobbies. Some of the profile descriptions are pretty normal, but there are quite a few silly or ridiculous ones.

Here are a few examples of the amusing character descriptions of some of the NPC's in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3. More posts to come because there seems to just be an abundance of these in the game.

Fashion Show - Five Star Outfit - Unique Theme

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can hold fashion shows and walk on the catwalk as a model. There are a variety of fashion show themes to choose from and once you have sold enough tickets to hold the show, you get to choose the outfit you wish to wear in the show as well as your make-up and hairstyle.

At the end of each fashion show, the game awards you a rating out of five based on how well your overall outfit matched the theme of the show. For a detailed guide on themes and taking part in fashion shows, please refer to the Fashion Show guide. The game does not give you hints at what specific style will fit the theme and bases your final score on how well your outfit, hairstyle and makeup matches the theme. Multiple styles fall under each category and you need to pick the one you feel best matches the theme.

This guide will look an outfit that received a five star rating under the unique category. The theme for this fashion show was a summer outfit for the holiday and was the rainbow star theme icon on the theme menu screen. The venue used was the fifth venue on the venue list which is the yellow hued one.

Now for the outfit. The clothing items used to create this outfit were:
  • Retrobeat - Retro Acorn Print Shirt (Blue/Green/Pink)
  • Retrobeat - Eye Pattern Tutu (Pink)
  • April Bonbon - Dripping Paint Knee Socks (Pink)
  • Retrobeat - Lame Gradiant Flats (Purple)
  • Retrobeat - Scarf-Pattern Bow

The hairstyle used is the Afro with a light blue and pink colour combination. The make-up set used was the Galactic Ranger set with the default colours (no adjustments made to the set).

After selecting ok after the outfit menu screen, Laurie provided a hint that the outfit fitted the unique theme of the fashion show. Next it was time to hit the catwalk! Here's some screenshots of my character modelling the five star outfit. Be sure the click the effects buttons when taking part in fashion shows as they help hype up audience interest.

Time to see the final score. The outfit fitted perfectly with the unique theme and received five stars. The tricky part with achieving five star outfits is matching the hair and make-up to the theme. A good tip is to pick make-up sets with a good colour palette and match the feel/colour of your clothing items.

After this, Ricky and Laurie will talk to your about your performance. If you have an outfit that is 3 stars or higher, they will usually give you praise. Other NPC's will appear as well giving you feedback about your outfit. Ricky will appear afterwards and give you a miniature item as a gift. You do not receive a special miniature for achieving five stars.

Whilst trying to figure out how to get five stars in the Unique category, I tried a bunch of different outfits (none of which were successful). Here is an outfit that almost made it to five stars and is similar to the outfit that one. This outfit had more accessories and the hairstyle did not match the unique theme. With the five star outfit, I kept the same top but altered the rest of the outfit to fit the summer theme. The hairstyle was changed to the Afro which is a unique hairstyle and the same make-up set was used.
