Frequently Asked Questions
This guide will cover frequently asked questions about various aspects of Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3. There are links included if you would like further information and there is a Guide Index available that includes links to all the guides for the game.
Can I customise the furniture in my apartment?
There is no option to customise your apartment and when visiting your apartment, you only have the options to change your wardrobe and makeup. In the previous game installment, there was an option to customise your furniture but this has been removed in this installment in the series. More information is available at the Apartment Guide.
Can I sell my own designs to customers at the Boutique?
You can only sell items you design for brand representatives at your Boutique. You cannot sell items you design yourself, but these can be worn on your own character.
I'm having trouble unlocking designer requests at the Designer Lounge?
Requests are available on certain days and you need to regularly check to see if they are available or not. Please visit the Designer Lounge Request Guide to see which days each request is available.
How do I unlock the special hairstyles?
To unlock the special hairstyles, you need to talk to the Five Sisters characters who appear around town in disguise. It is random to when they appear, but I found working at the hair salon helped the characters appear. For more information, please visit the Hairstyle Guide.
I can't seem to unlock certain hairstyles?
To unlock new styles, you must use certain styles multiple times. However, there is no specific amount of times you must use the style and it is random on when new ones will unlock. For example to unlock the volumised side ponytail, you must use the side ponytail styles multiple times on customers that visit the hair salon. For more information, please visit the Hairstyle Guide.
I'm having trouble triggering the events that are required to unlock colours?
A good trick to triggering these events is to save and reload your game a few times until the event is available. It required about six tries of reloading the game for myself to trigger the tiramisu event. It's best to save before you reload the game as turning the game off without saving can harm your game and 3DS (plus you might lose your progress in other parts of the game).
Rainbow disappeared and I can't seem to find her.
Many players have reported that Rainbow often goes missing from the park. Try exiting and re-entering the park to see if she re-appears. If not, try visiting the Boutique and other shops around town as she may be waiting for you. She may also be at the Meadows waiting for you to visit her.
My game has glitched out!
I've had a few people tell me that their game as glitched out whilst visiting the Exhibition Hall and aspects of the game haven't loaded in properly. If this happens, visit the eShop and see if there is an update available for the game. Style Boutique 2 has an update available on the eShop (for European and Australian players). Otherwise, try the old trick of turning the game off and on again.
Is men's fashion available in the game?
Men's fashion was available in the previous game, however the option to serve male customers at your Boutique is not available in Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3. Men's Fashion still appears in the game, but only as an option in the start menu of the game that allows you to change the clothing of male characters that appear in the game. For more information, please visit the Men's Fashion Guide.
How do I meet the Five Sisters?
The Five Sisters story line triggers at a random time and there is no specific way to trigger the story to begin. For information on this story line, please visit the Five Sisters guide.
What style do I use for the fashion shows?
Now the tricky thing is that the game doesn't tell you the exact style of the fashion show theme and you need to work it out for yourself. Each fashion show theme (and also photo shoots) has a symbol associated with it and different styles fall under the symbol. Here is a handy guide on what styles belong to each category (please note that this is a rough guide based on experiments conducted and other players may have found outfits they created fitted into these categories):
Can you please add my room to the Room Codes Database?
Absolutely! Please leave your Room Code in the comments of the Room Codes Database and I will add it to the list.
I'm having trouble unlocking the Exotic Grape colour at Tropica Beach.
For this colour, you need to talk to Gwen who runs the Cafe. She may provide you with a grape platter which is what you need to take a photo of. If she does not, keep talking to her until the grape platter option appears.
The game says I cannot save any more designs to my portfolio.
You can only store a certain amount of designs in your various portfolios in the game (designs, hairstyles, saved rooms, etc). You will need to delete designs to save new ones which is required if you wish to complete all the Designer Lounge Requests.
I can't see the correct scene for a colour location.
Try pressing the R and L buttons to cycle through the various scenes that appear when you visit locations around the city. For a list of all colour locations, please visit the Colour Palette Guide.
Help, I can't seem to start the fashion show.
You need to select a theme and venue for your fashion show before it can begin. Even if you have sold all the tickets, the show cannot begin until these two options are chosen.
How can I visit Peony Hall?
You are unable to enter the actual hall, but you can talk to the Butler outside and the Five Sisters who live at Peony Hall throughout the course of the game.
What is Xiaoling's favourite style?
Xiaoling seems to be the hardest character to please out of the main NPC clothing requests. I found she seems to like girly clothing items, but once I gave her a girly themed Yukata and she was thrilled. So she seems to also appreciate eastern themed items if you get stuck.
What DLC sets are available?
Only certain DLC sets have been released for Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3. All the DLC sets are available in the Japanese version (Girls Mode 3) and some of the Japanese DLC sets have been incorporated into the main game in the EUR/AU and NA versions. These sets include the Christmas Set, Halloween Set and Autumn Goods Set. For a list of the DLC available in your region, please refer to the DLC Guide.
Do you have a Caprice Chalet room I visit?
Yes! My room is available to download at the room code 180-239-9851.
The top floor of the Exhibition Hall has lots of empty space, when do I unlock the brands for this floor?
The top floor only holds the Purple Moon brand and the Stock Management option. There are no other brands on this floor. There are 17 brands available in the game and information on the brands can be found in the Brands and Accessories Guide.
What does the QR Code do?
Nothing. QR Codes are only available for use in the Japanese version of the game and are region locked to Japan. There are no plans to release QR Codes for Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3.
What is the Designer Collection?
This option allows to view clothing items you have downloaded from other players rooms at the Caprice Chalet. If you have saved a design from a mannequin in a Caprice Chalet room, it will appear in the Designer Collection option. For more information, please visit the Designer Collection Guide.
One of the Stylettos left and hasn't come back.
If you reject the request of one of the Stylettos, they will re-appear after a few days (or sometimes longer). This the same with if one of the Stylettos does not appear but the other two do. You will just need to wait until the character appears in your Boutique.
How do I get those mii characters to appear like in your amiibo posts?
When you scan in an amiibo card or figure into the game, a character will be generated based off the mii registered to the amiibo. For more information on how to use Amiibos in the game, please visit the Amiibo Guide.
How can I clear all my stock at once?
Unfortunately the option to clear all your stock at once was removed in Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3. Now you must select each item individually to add to the clear stock cart. For more information, please the Purchasing and Clearing Stock Guide.
Can I customise the furniture in my apartment?

Amiibo Items - Princess Tiara
Style
Boutique 2 has amiibo compatibility and unlocks special items for your
character to wear. There are a number of amiibos available to scan into the game and when scanned, it generates a character based off the mii registered to the amiibo. A guide on how to use amiibos, compatible amiibos and the unlockable items can be found here.
You can obtain colour variations of certain amiibo items. To unlock amiibo items in different colours, you must first unlock the initial colour of the item (shown in the images in the amiibo guide). After this, keep re-scanning the amiibo until the character shows up in a new outfit. Different styles are associated to different colours, ie the black/yellow Yoshi Hoodie falls under the rock style so the customer will request a rock outfit. There are 5 different colours of each amiibo item to unlock.
Here are the five different colours of the Princess Tiara which can be obtained by scanning the Zelda amiibo (includes Breath Of The Wild Zelda).
