Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards now compatible with Style Boutique

Animal Crossing Amiibo cards are now compatible with Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3 and can be scanned into the game to unlock special Nintendo themed items. Previously only amiibo figures were compatible with the game, but since Nintendo recently updated Animal Crossing New Leaf, the cards can now be used in Style Boutique and Style Savvy. For more information on amiibo items, please refer to the amiibo guide.

There are two items that the amiibo cards will unlock; the Town Secretary Shirt and the Star Hairpin. These items are part of the amiibo items that are already included in the game and you can also unlock them by scanning a Isabelle amiibo (Town Secretary Shirt) or a Bowser, Toad or Luigi amiibo (Star Hairpin). The Town Secretary Shirt is available in the Happy Home Designer DLC set as well.

To unlock the items, it is the same process as scanning an amiibo. Select the Amiibo function from the phone menu and tap the card onto the NFC Reader or bottom 3DS screen (newer models). The game will ask to register the amiibo if it is not registered. The game will generate a character based off the mii registered to the amiibo and ask if you wish to continue. Select no if you wish to return to your Boutique and serve the customer or select yes if you wish to keep scanning the amiibo to unlock more colours. You must unlock the original colour of the item before you can unlock the other four. Please refer to the following guides for more information on the Town Secretary Shirt and Star Hairpin.

To unlock the Town Secretary Shirt, you can scan any of the Isabelle amiibo cards from any of the four card series. The character will appear as a blue NPC at your boutique.

If the customer is happy with their outfit, they will gift you the special amiibo item. The process works the same as scanning a normal amiibo.

To unlock the Star Hairpin, you can scan any amiibo card (excluding Isabelle) from any of the four card series. All special cards and villager cards will unlock the Star Hairpin. You can use cards from any region as I scanned my Japanese KK Slider card and it worked.

These are the amiibo cards I scanned to unlock the items. I scanned my Isabelle card from Series 2 as well and it unlocked the Town Secretary Shirt. Same deal with the villager cards, I scanned my Bill card and it unlocked the Star Hairpin.

Autumn Goods DLC Items

Items from the Japanese Autumn Goods DLC are available during the Autumn/Fall season in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3. In Girls Mode 3 (the Japanese version of the game), the items were available as a DLC download during the Autumn season. In Style Boutique 2 and Style Savvy 3, the items have been incorporated into the game and do not need to be downloaded via the DLC option.

The pictures below showcase the items from the Japanese DLC set.

The Library Dress and Autumnal Ribbon are available from the Marble Lily brand during the months of September, October and November. The Chocolate Pastry Earrings are available from Purple Moon during the same months. The earrings are only pictured in the second Japanese DLC picture as a DLC exclusive item so it is not confirmed whether they are part of the set in the western versions of the game.

The Margherita Pizza and Sourdough Loaf miniature items are available to purchase from the Miniatures Shop during the same months. These items can also be received as gifts from NPC characters during other months (I was gifted the pizza during November) and are found under the Food section of the miniature collection.

Amiibo Items - Goddess Top

Style Boutique 2 has amiibo compatibility and unlocks special items for your character to wear. There are a number of amiibos available to scan into the game and when scanned, it generates a character based off the mii registered to the amiibo. A guide on how to use amiibos, compatible amiibos and the unlockable items can be found here.

You can obtain colour variations of certain amiibo items. To unlock amiibo items in different colours, you must first unlock the initial colour of the item (shown in the images in the amiibo guide). After this, keep re-scanning the amiibo until the character shows up in a new outfit. Different styles are associated to different colours, ie the black/yellow Yoshi Hoodie falls under the rock style so the customer will request a rock outfit. There are 5 different colours of each amiibo item to unlock.

Here are the five different colours of the Goddess Top which can be obtained by scanning the Palutena amiibo.

Halloween

Halloween is a fun holiday to take part in Style Boutique 2 and there a few activities around the city to enjoy. There are Halloween themed conversations with NPC characters, Halloween themed miniatures and clothing available to purchase.

When you first start up the game, the little carriage that travels across the top screen that normally displays the time will say 'Trick or Treat' and spooky themed music plays in the background. If you travel to Station Square, a giant pumpkin display has been set up. My character is wearing one of the Halloween outfits (top, skirt and hat) available from Purple Moon.

Head to Cafetiere Close and you will find Gwen is visiting from Maple Crescent. She will appear with a musical note above her head. Talk to her to learn that she enjoys visiting the city during Halloween and visit the Cafe with her.

Over at Station Square, Jewel is visiting the city from Tropicana Beach. Talk to her to take a walk around the area and she will tell you how amazed she is at the giant pumpkin display.

If you visit the various shops around the city, the characters will greet you will Halloween themed greetings. If you play the game on other special days such as birthdays and Christmas, characters will have similuar holiday themed greetings.

Halloween themed miniatures are available to purchase from the Miniatures Shop during the month of October. These miniatures include items such as the Rose-Emblem Coffin, Split Tomato Juice and Curtain.

Brands such as Stage Dive, April Bonbon and Purple Moon sell special Halloween themed items at the Exhibition Hall during the month of October. Items from the Japanese Halloween DLC are available from Stage Dive and April Bonbon. For more information on these items, please read the Halloween DLC guide

Here are screenshots of some of the Halloween items available from Purple Moon. The brand sells a number of Halloween themed items.

If you visit Peony Hall and speak to the male NPC with the musical note above his head, he will tell you how he believes Peony Hall is haunted. Please refer to the Haunted Peony Hall post if you wish to see screenshots from the story.

Halloween themed modelling jobs and fashion show themes are available during the month of October. My character is wearing the Halloween Japanese DLC items available from April Bonbon in the fashion show pictures below.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween - Haunted Peony Hall

There is a small conversation that appears on October 31st in Style Boutique that tells the story of a character believing Peony Hall is haunted. This story line is part of the Halloween celebrations in the game.

Head to the train station and visit The Meadows. There should be a male NPC standing by Peony Hall with a musical note above his head. Talk to him to trigger the story line. The male NPC is Colin who works for Ricky and it seems he is quite scared of going near Peony Hall as he believes he saw a ghost in the window.

Here are the screenshots from the conversation.

After talking to Colin, you will be able to talk a photo with him. This conversation is one of the fun activities to do on October 31st in the game.

Fashion Shows

Fashion Shows play an important role in Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3 and can increase the amount of customers that visit your Boutique. You have the opportunity to become a model and walk the catwalk in a number of different themed shows. During the main story line of the game, you will need to hold a number of fashion shows to complete the main story line and unlock new features in the game.

Visit Beaumonde Arena at Taylor Arcade to hold a fashion show. When you enter the Arena, you will be greeted by Ricky who is in charge of managing the fashion shows. A screen will appear with the following options: Choose A Theme, Choose A Venue, View Ticket Sales and Open The Fashion Show.

There are a number of things you must complete before the fashion show begins. First, you must choose a theme and venue. You are unable to select Open The Fashion Show until you choose a theme and venue and all tickets are sold.

The first step is to select a theme. Different themes are available throughout the year and range from themes such as seasons, Halloween, tea parties and weather. Select the Choose A Theme option and the following screen will appear.

These six symbols represent the six categories that the themes fall under. The symbols DO NOT represent a specific style or image of clothing as multiple styles fall into each category. The six symbols represent the following categories:
  • Cute (Red Heart)
  • Cool (Grey Small Sprite)
  • Fun (Orange Bubbles)
  • Grown-Up (Purple Rose)
  • Unique (Rainbow Star)
  • Individual (Blue Icon)
