DLC

There is DLC available for Style Boutique that features items based off Nintendo franchises or Japanese brands. There has only been a small amount of DLC released for the Australian/European version of the game and some DLC has only been released for the Japanese version.

All DLC in Style Boutique is free to download and requires an e-shop account. DLC items can only be worn by your own character and cannot be sold in your boutique. Some packs have miniature items that can be used when designing rooms at Caprice Chalet.

To download DLC, select the Add-on Items option on the game's start menu. Press the Select Add-on Items option and it will redirect you to the e-Shop. Next you will be taken to a menu that displays all the DLC available for download. It will state whether you have downloaded the DLC previously.

Amiibo Items

Style Boutique 2 has amiibo compatibility and unlocks special items for your character to wear. When you scan the amiibo into the game, it generates a character based off the mii registered to the amiibo. It makes for some hilarious results. Only certain amiibo figures are compatible with the game and all the cards from the Animal Crossing amiibo cards series are compatible (since November 2016).

Here's the character the game designed based off my mii character.

The character will talk about having their portrait drawn by Xiaoling.

The character will ask for an outfit to match their item. Most asked for lively or retro outfits. If the character is happy with their outfit, they will give you the amiibo item as a gift. If the character is unhappy, they will disappear and won’t visit again until the next day. All the items come under the Purple Moon brand. Here is a list of the compatible amiibos and the items you will receive from them.

For information on using Animal Crossing amiibo cards in the game, please refer to this guide.

Bowser/Luigi/Toad = Star Hairpin
Any villager or special (excluding Isabelle) amiibo card = Star Hairpin

Kirby = Kirby Bag

Inkling Girl = Inky Leggings

Peach = Princess Crown

Sheik = Sheikah Scarf

Zelda (Includes Breath Of The Wild Zelda) = Princess Tiara

Samus = Galactic Visor

Wii Fit Trainer = Yoga Earrings

Zero Suit Samus = Bounty Hunter Boots

Yoshi = Egg Hooded Jacket

Mario = M Hat

Isabelle = Town Secretary Shirt
Isabelle Amiibo Cards = Town Secretary Shirt
*can also be obtained through HHD DLC*

Palutena = Goddess Top

Rosalina = Starry Dress

Lucina = Warrior Skirt

According to the Girls Mode 3 guide, you can obtain colour variations of certain amiibo items. To unlock amiibo items in different colours, you must first unlock the initial colour of the item (shown in the images above). After this, keep re-scanning the amiibo until the character shows up in a new outfit. Different styles are associated to different colours, ie the black/yellow Yoshi Hoodie falls under the rock style so the customer will request a rock outfit. There are 5 different colours of each amiibo item to unlock and here are some links to guides on the different colours of various amiibo items.

Here's a picture from the Girls Mode 3 guide that shows the amiibo items in different colours.
